Welcome

Welcome to my blog. I update this as often as I can with news that you might not see on the major networks as my main focus. I welcome any and all comments, and I have content at the bottom of the page everyday. Personal blurb: My personal belief is that the US Constitution's first amendment (which talks about the freedom of speech) extends to the Internet. For this reason, I have the comments setting set up to have comments go up immediately. If you comment anonymously, you will have to go through a word verification step. I will keep the setting as-is as long as the comments are kept 'G' rated. Thanks and I hope you keep coming back.

Amazon Cloud Drive Review

With Amazon.com's announcement of the Amazon Cloud Drive last week, I have been very anxious to try it out.

Before you even open it, you do not have to have bought anything from Amazon to access it.  All you need is an account with them, which is free.  There are only two accounts through amazon, personal and associates.  Even the basic one, personal, allows access to the "storage locker".  You only need the associates upgrade if you buy over $1000/month for 12 months or you want to advertise for Amazon on your webpage/blog.  You receive 5 gb of storage space for free when you first access it.  You then get another GB on your first purchase, after it was announced.

A lot of the media has expressed the Amazon Cloud Drive (ACD) as a music storage locker.  This is not entirely accurate.  It is more closely like Google Docs in that you can also store your documents, pictures, and videos from your computer hard drive.  I haven't read the Terms of Service(TOS) for the ACD, but I would like to note that some storage service sites state in their TOS that everything stored on their servers is owned by them.

I definenately like this service, but I haven't purchased anything through them since the announcement so I don't really know how to use it.  The UI (user interface) is very nice.  There is an option to purchase additional storage but it gets pricy fast.  As of now, it doesn't allow storage of ebooks, but I would assume that that will be coming in a future update.  I definately recommend everyone to check it out.
